The members were treated to a masterly demonstration at this weeks meeting. Howard painted a Menorcan harbour scene, and showed us how to turn an ordinary photo, with no sunlight, into a stunning, atmospheric painting. He generously shared his way of approaching a complex and busy scene, distilling it to all that he wanted and omitting anything he thought would not enhance the final watercolour. He changed and adapted the scene and when he was ready, left his photo behind and made the scene his own. Thank you Howard, it was a brilliant demo.
Thanks to Paul as well for his nifty camerawork..as Howard moved from area to area very swiftly!
