Our demonstrator this evening was our very own Chair of SWAS, Tony Batey.
Tony is a self taught maritime painter, who has previously been accepted by the Royal Society of Maritime artists. Having served 10 years in the Royal Navy, he enjoys painting 19th & 20th century shipping particularly in acrylics.
Tony demonstrated three stages to paint a Bristol Channel Sailing Pilot Cutter, sharing his enthusiasm for the subject, with additional historical & technical information by Dave Phillips.
A very enjoyable, interesting & informative evening by a very skilled artist.
