Annual Exhibition 2023

Our Annual Exhibition will soon be upon us. It will be held at Penarth Pier Pavilion from 4 December to 19 January. We can only exhibit a maximum of 50 paintings, so a selection will be necessary. Artworks may be on any subject.  All paintings and sculptures must be for sale - and realistically priced! The gallery will take a 25% commission (+ VAT).

Each member may enter one or two paintings, of which the maximum external dimension (i.e. including the frame) is 36". Members may also enter a miniature painting or sculpture as defined in the accompanying rules (see here - rule 5). All artworks must be labelled with the artist’s name and contact details, title, medium and price.

You may download an entry form here, which must be emailed or handed to our Exhibition Organiser, Eli Absi, by Friday 10 November 2023.

The judging and selection day will be Friday 17 November at the Heath Hall. Please bring your paintings to the hall  between 12 midday and 1 o’clock. You may collect them after 3.30 pm.

Entry fees of £5 per artwork are payable on selection day. Please note that all fixings must be removed from the artworks for selection day (see rule 10(i)).

We shall be setting up the exhibition on Monday 4 December from 10 am until midday, so that we can open the exhibition later that day. Paintings selected for hanging must be fitted and strung with D-rings or similar, ready for hanging.

The Opening Evening (and presentation of prizes) will be on Thursday 7 December from 6 pm to 8 pm. Please will  last year’s prizewinners return their trophies as soon as possible to any member of the committee.

Artists whose work is sold at the exhibition are asked to contact Karen Davies, Pavilion Manager, with their contact and bank details.

The exhibition will close on Thursday 19th January.
