Many thanks to Roger Haigh for undertaking the unenviable task of judging and selection the finalists, category winners and overall winner! He again gave in-depth and worthwhile critiques, of which all members benefited. He commented on the diverse styles submitted and of the consistently high standard of entries. By his own admittance he found it difficult to choose, but the final winners were well deserving and the Society send hearty congratulations to them. So ..

Overall winner

Joe Rhodes, for a stunning painting, both vibrant and calming; the skilful handling and rendering of the medium is astounding.

City Gardens

Claire Sadlier for her oil painting entitled Japanese Red, a fabulously exuberant depiction of an autumnal city park - Cefn On. Roger said "I see Claire in this painting". Runner up was again Joe Rhodes for a light filled painting, again, so skillfully rendered.

Contrasts

Overall Winner Joe Rhodes.. say no more!! Runner Up.. Lysbeth Davies.. for her breathtaking execution of architectural sculpture, rendered in pencil, but with so many tonal nuances which brought movement and energy to the marble horses!!
