Critique - Lee Wright

18 April 2023

Lee Wright provided us with an excellent critique on Tuesday evening. He assessed and commented on over 30 artworks submitted by members, identifying areas which, if done differently, would potentially have improved the painting.

Whilst Lee admitted that, for many of the paintings submitted, he had some difficulty in finding any suggestions for improvement, he instead equally usefully pointed out a number of features which the artists had achieved successfully.

After selecting ten or so paintings, any of which Lee said he “would be happy to have hanging on my wall”, he picked out as the winner Tony Batey’s painting of a paddle-steamer returning to Cardiff and entitled ‘Didn’t We Have A Lovely Day’. New member Mo Harper was runner-up.
