The annual Derrick Turner Competition was held over two evenings - 18 February and 4 March 2014. On the first evening, a critique was given on paintings entered for the first subject, 'Rural and Urban' while the second evening comprised a critique on those entered for the second subject 'A Tale Never Told' and then the winners were selected.
Many thanks to this year's judge, Gideon Hall, for his useful comments and for the unenviable task of choosing the winners.
After some deliberation, the winners were eventually chosen as follows:
Part 1: Urban & Rural: Winner - June Reed; Runner-up - Pam Gilbert
Part 2 A Tale Never Told: Winner - Dr Eli Absi; Runner-up - Peter Boshier Jones
Overall winner - Dr Eli Absi, seen here with judge Gideon Hall.
